Just a few quick pics

I just got the above quilt back from the quilters this weekend. I had made the center part years ago. A secret sister each month gave me the instructions and fabrics - so at the time I had no idea what I was making! Then this spring my LQS decided they wanted me to teach it as a BOM for the shop - well hey - I had it almost done! So I finished up the borders and got it quilted to hang in the shop this summer! The borders add a lot! Oh and I had the quilter put this really fun all over paisley design on it. You might be able to see them in some of the lighter areas.

Emily had a great time in Utah - she took some amazing pictures! I wouldn't even know where to start to show them to you! So here are just a random few!

And last weekend Holly went to Cincinnati to go to a Cubs game, they can't get tickets for a game here in Chicago! So this is a really cute picture of her with 3 friends from High School - Holly is the one on the right (short one)!

Dawn I love that paisley quilting - it really brings all the blocks together. And I'm not usually one for scalloped borders, but it looks great on this quilt. Love the border too. It's very elaborate!

Wow wow wow the photos from Utah, particularly the rock formations, are fab. And it looks so waaaaarm. It's frrrreezing here!

Cute photo of the 'kids'. Did she have a good time?

Love the quilt - especially the watercolour/pixelated type star top left. Utah looks awesome - real 'Big Country' cowboy film type landscapes - those rock bridges are awesome. Holly's Cubs game took me back - I went to see a game at Wrigley Fields back in 91 when visiting family friends from West Lafayette, Indiana - I flew into O'Hare and we stayed the first few days of my visit with their daughter in Chicago - loved the city - can't for the life of me remember who the Cubs were playing or even if they won-shame on me :o)

The photos are great. The west is always so inspiring and wild looking!

I really like the border on the paisley quilt. I've bee looking for different ways of finished off odd stacks off blocks and find that if the border or setting is more detailed or not symetrical the blocks tend to play better together.
