Let's Celebrate (Spring)

Finally! It is time to reveal the celebrate spring challenge with Darlene, Nicole and myself! I thought the day would never come!

Nicole and Darlene both started with FQ packs. I on the other hand started with 2 - 5" charm packs. And here it is!

Yes it is even quilted. It was so funny because I had bought these charm packs in Paducah with a table topper quilt in mind for my Aunt! I had no idea what I would do with them, but she was wanting a table topper for her kitchen table for sping/summer but was too chicken to ask me - I found out through my mom! So when I saw these in Paducah I knew they were perfect for her. I get home from Paducah and what do you know - Darlene and Nicole had started this challenge! So I invited myself in! And hence the rush to get it finished and quilted so I could give it to her!

And if you don't recognize the pattern - it is Darlene's made up pattern! I had seen it awhile ago on her blog and just knew I needed to make something like it at some time! And you know what - this is the perfect idea for a table topper and charms! I'm going to make another one for me I think in more my colors!

So here's to inspiration, quilts and FQ/Charm packs!

OMG, OMG, OMG! Dawn what a SURPRISE - you've brought tears to my eyes. What a great use of my "made up pattern" - it's truly cute beyond words! I am almost speechless - so much I want to say and just can't find the words!

Thank you so much for playing along with Nicole and I - it's been so much fun. I can't wait to do it again. Talk about having to say focused. LOL

OK-- You can be my niece--- this quilt is adorable. I love the fabrics, and the piecing, but it's the quilting that brings it together.

Love the table topper. The quilting is spectacular and those fabrics just sing. I know they're not "you" colors -- but what a great spring/summer table topper!

ForestJane said...

ok, I have to be the different one and ask.... your charm pack on the top pic has the words:

...h a ladybug... eat fresh...

surely you're not eating fresh squashed ladybugs? or did it say mash a ladybug? catch a ladybug? uggh! lol

But what you did there with the squares is wonderful!

Absolutely marvelous Dawn! I can't believe how quickly you got this done! Your aunt is going to go nuts over it. I've put the picture of that quilt of Darlene's in my inspirational quilt photo album - I want to try doing that with a bunch of my 2" squares.
