I can't wait for camp!!!

Camp is coming up! Less than 2 months away now. This years theme is "Patchwork Pantry". We will be doing projects and blocks based on a pantry theme - and working on whatever projects we want too! One of the things we are going to do is aprons. I found this Ladies Aid apron pattern and had to try it out. Isn't it cute! And it was so easy to make!

Well ok, it was easy to sew - but there was a small problem as you can see when making this at 11:30 at night! Can't blame the instructions, they clearly said to check the direction of the print. Can't blame that I didn't read the instructions - I read that, several times. Can't blame myself for not checking the pattern and direction of the fabric, I did that 3 times.

Whats the problem? What I read and checked didn't register in my brain! I kept saying - yup that is right. Somehow my brain just kept looking at the direction of the fabric and thinking the pattern was laid on it the right way - but it wasn't! So my reversable apron isn't so reversable - but it is still cute!

I"m sure someone is going to ask - so here is the info! It is the "Church Ladies' Apron Pattern" by Mary Mulari. Go check it out! She has a ton of differnt apron patterns. And the instructions are good - it is just the user who messed up!

The apron looks great....love both of them.....I was sewing last night and sewed a strip on the wrong side of the material....a long strip...so I just quit.

Best laid plans...I do that all the time when sewing pieces together. I check and try to grab the pieces consistently in the right order and direction...and man, who knows what happens..I get confused as to how I could still sew them together wrong! Your aprons look beautiful and now one can just be a 'test' to see if others are paying attention :-)
Good conversation starter and it still looks lovely.

Those are great, even for sewing so late at night.

Just adorable! As to the issue of the apples, I think that only on the tree to they have a direction . . . so, you must put your apples stem-side down when cutting them, right?

I'm so wired, I can hardly stand it . . . never had the hand-outs ready so early. Don't quite know what to do with myself! I did go out and buy a few apron patterns to add to the door prizes while Hobby Lobby had Simplicity's for $.99 each.
