I made it!

We made it through the day! Holly is now married and starting her new life. Jenna gave the bridesmaid speech and started to cry - that made all of us cry! But it was a lovely day and things went well. Just a few pics - I haven't hadtime to go through them all.

But meanwhile my friend Jody (from Australia) and I (along with her family) have been having a blast! I still have so much to share about the last 2 weeks there too!

Where to start!

I don't even know where to start! My friend Jody and her family and my family are having SO MUCH fun! There is no way I could ever share everything! Above is the most adorable chook pincushion you could ever want - NO ONE is taking this from me!

Went to a brewery in Milwaukee that also makes pop, that was a blast! Their root beer is so good - but the boys didn't like it! They think it tastes like thier medicine in AU!

It has been cold and rainy all week, but we final braved the elements and went to Chicago yesterday to the museum of science and industry. Had a great day just hanging out there. We saw the German U-505 submarine and went into the coal mine! And look at these awesome chicago buildings made out of lego's!

Of course also have shared lots of meals and friendship. I don't want this week to end. Well ok, next week because they are coming to Oklahoma with me for the wedding! Oh and I made these note pad covers for Holly and the bridesmaids. Emily has already informed me she won't touch hers!

The Wedding quilt is DONE!

Just put the finishing stitch in the binding on the wedding quilt! I"m so happy! I"ll get a picture of it Wednesday since I go to guild and have lots of hands to help hold it up (especially tall people since it is so big!) Meanwhile I got a few more confetti blocks done. I also have been working on some thread organizers for our guild's boutique at our show in November, but no pics right now.

What have I been up to?

Not much! Just vegging a lot lately! Not even sewing. But today I finally went down and made the pillowcases I told Holly I would make her to go with her wedding quilt - they look great!

And here are the first 3 blocks to my project I started at camp. It is Confetti Cake by "The Pattern Basket". I won this pattern a few months ago and knew I had to make it. Only I"m going to make it queen size for my bed in the summer! I"m so excited!

Presents from Friends!

I got some very special presents at camp this year. Above is from Laura - who I was SO HAPPY to see again. I felt like it had been forever since I had seen her! She got me this gorgeous photo book for me to put wedding pics in! And a lovely candle that smells so nice!

And Linda G gave me this really cool small photo frame! She laughed and said I could put pictures of the wedding on it, then when people asked if we had a good time at the wedding and did we get any good pics I whip it out of my pocket and they are stuck seeing them! If I carry a large album they run when they see me!

And these are gifts to myself. I stopped by an antique store on the way down to camp and came across 2 bags of old blocks. I fell in love with them. I"m going to figure out a way to put both sizes in one quilt and use them all. There are more than what I'm showing, so I should get a nice small quilt out of them.

I also learned how to make chenille pot holders. This one has to be washed and dried again, but I"m making a few more, so I"m going to wait until those are done. When they are really done they are all soft and fuzzy.

Still Unpacking

I don't know why I don't realize that when I spend a month packing for camp I am not going to get unpacked and organized within a day (or two)!!! Anyway, I unpacked a bit last night and this morning and have all kinds of goodies to share with you. I know I have more probably. Anyway, the most fun thing I made at camp was this bag. The bag folds up into this pocket (above) and then opens out into a big tote bag (below)! I obviously need to fix the one side of the handle, didn't get it quite even. I made this with Jan - I"m so glad she shared her pattern and told me about this! Oh and heh - get the colors and fabric style - I didn't stick to my norm!

I also made this tote bag with my friend Joan. This one is going to my mother-in-law. I think she will like it!

Also got my apron done! I wanted one of those aprons that cross in the back, and look at the fun 50's fabric I used! (Yes it is wrinkled from packing).

And last but not least a bit better view of "The Purple Quilt"!

Tomorrow - Gifts!

Camp was Wonderful!

As always, camp was wonderful. I got some much needed sewing time and mostly visiting time with friends. Here are just a few quick pics of what I worked on. Above is the "purple" quilt I made for my sister-in-law for xmas. One guess what color she likes!

And this is my friend Joan's "treat bag" dress.

And here is Laura's dress and my dress (with treats inside). I"ll have to get some more pics later. Just been too busy catching up with life at work and home!

Off to Camp

I"m off to camp!!!! Well tomorrow I am! Finished my other clothespin bag for myself!

And made an emergency baby quilt for my sister. Her niece-in-law asked her oldest son to be the Godfather of their new baby, so she thought he should have a special present for the baby.

AND I got all my spool blocks together so I can take it to the quilter on retreat! This is a swap Darlene, Sharon, Wendy, Judy, and Carol did with me. It is going to be such a special quilt! I just love the way it looks!

And the wedding quilt is quilted and I have the binding sewn on. Now to sew it down on the back!

See you in a week!

Made a few more table runners this weekend. They are so easy and fun!

Some finishes!!!

Have 2 new finishes to show you! So yes you've seen the tops done, but they are quilted now and have binding on them!!! (I didn't say the binding was sewn down though you notice). Above is my string stars. Doesn't it look great! Actually this one does have binding sewn down and has been on my bed for a week. Check out the back.

And my sisters wine quilt is all quilted! My friend quilted grapes and grape leaves on it. If you look hard you might see the grape circles. My sister is going to LOVE this!

And in case I didn't post it, the wedding quilt top is done and at the quilters as we speak! It is king size so I had a hard time getting the whole thing in!

Is this just not the cutest!

Isn't this clothespin bag just not the cutest! I made this for Laura for camp. We always bring containers for treats that we pass around. She is bringing the decorations for our table so I offered to make the treat containers. Since the theme is Patchchwork Pantry I thought this clothespin bag would be perfect. Now to decide what fabric I"m going to make mine in. I keep changing my mind! Or I love Laura's so much maybe I'll steal hers!

I also got fabric cut out for one more kit for camp!

The Wedding Quilt Top is DONE

Yes, I've been extremely busy. We never travel or go anywhere. This month we have been gone on long road trips 3 weekends in a row! I"m exhausted. But I did accomplish one thing! The wedding quilt top is DONE!!!! DONE I say!!!! And I had a about a 15" x 40" strip of background fabric left - now that was close! Taking it to the quilter tomorrow!

Last week went to Iowa for my middle daughters White Coat Ceremony. She officially is a P1 student now (1st year Pharmacy Grad School Student). They have a lovely ceremony where they get their white coats. My kids won't even let me take pictures anymore because they say - "its going on the blog". So Here is a picture of her with her white coat and lego head.

Bricktown Oklahoma City

Went to Bricktown in Oklahoma City today in the 95+ degree heat. It was hot. I sure could not live down here, that is for sure. But the river walk was beautiful and nice to take a stroll after a full day of driving yesterday. Tomorrow we turn around and do the drive back. Ughh.
