Finally some sewing!

Got a bit of sewing done this weekend! Actually I spent a lot of time cutting out my pieces for Orange Crush Step 2. Didn't start sewing yet as that kind of sewing is good for me during the week when I get home from work and am tired. So you'll see that later in the week. I finally got a purdue pillow case made for Holly's boyfriend's younger brother. He has been bugging Holly for one ever since he saw Holly's.

And I finished 2 more stitchery blocks. Aren't they wonderful! I'm not sure how I"m going to set them yet in a quilt, I'll decide that once I get them all done.


I also put some bindings on some small quilts and started a few more small quilts. You'll see those later also. But at least I did get some sewing done!

Yeah for sewing! Seems like you have been so busy lately - good to get you back at your machine *s* Or with needle and thread, anyway. Look forward to seeing what got bindings . . . .

Glad you got to do some quilting. I spent yesterday doing alterations on a prom dress for my husband's cousin. It is a gorgeous dress and she will look lovely. Now I am hoping to get some quilting time in this week. I have a lot on my May motivation list, so hoping to complete a lot this month!

Love the Purdue pillowcase - we have family friends in West Lafayette - I stayed with them for a holiday in 1991 - he was a lecturer in Anthropology at Purdue before he retired - sadly Alzheimers took him a year or two ago but his wife still lives there. We met them when the family lived in our village when I was about 14 yo and they were over in the UK for him to take a year's sabbatical at Leeds University - that seems such an age ago now

Wow, those quilts are so tiny and adorable. That is some very clever piecing. Your stitcheries look great. I love the simple themes that have meaning in our daily lives. I just bought some of that background fabric for a quilt, but now I am imagining all the stitching I could do on it instead. A great neutral yet pretty choice. It looks like you had a great time at the quilt show. But how did you get it home? lol

We just feel better when we have a little time to sew or quilt. The pillowcase turned out cute. I made one for my youngest at WMU.
