Still Unpacking

I don't know why I don't realize that when I spend a month packing for camp I am not going to get unpacked and organized within a day (or two)!!! Anyway, I unpacked a bit last night and this morning and have all kinds of goodies to share with you. I know I have more probably. Anyway, the most fun thing I made at camp was this bag. The bag folds up into this pocket (above) and then opens out into a big tote bag (below)! I obviously need to fix the one side of the handle, didn't get it quite even. I made this with Jan - I"m so glad she shared her pattern and told me about this! Oh and heh - get the colors and fabric style - I didn't stick to my norm!

I also made this tote bag with my friend Joan. This one is going to my mother-in-law. I think she will like it!

Also got my apron done! I wanted one of those aprons that cross in the back, and look at the fun 50's fabric I used! (Yes it is wrinkled from packing).

And last but not least a bit better view of "The Purple Quilt"!

I can't wait for camp!!!

Camp is coming up! Less than 2 months away now. This years theme is "Patchwork Pantry". We will be doing projects and blocks based on a pantry theme - and working on whatever projects we want too! One of the things we are going to do is aprons. I found this Ladies Aid apron pattern and had to try it out. Isn't it cute! And it was so easy to make!

Well ok, it was easy to sew - but there was a small problem as you can see when making this at 11:30 at night! Can't blame the instructions, they clearly said to check the direction of the print. Can't blame that I didn't read the instructions - I read that, several times. Can't blame myself for not checking the pattern and direction of the fabric, I did that 3 times.

Whats the problem? What I read and checked didn't register in my brain! I kept saying - yup that is right. Somehow my brain just kept looking at the direction of the fabric and thinking the pattern was laid on it the right way - but it wasn't! So my reversable apron isn't so reversable - but it is still cute!

I"m sure someone is going to ask - so here is the info! It is the "Church Ladies' Apron Pattern" by Mary Mulari. Go check it out! She has a ton of differnt apron patterns. And the instructions are good - it is just the user who messed up!
