Some finishes!!!

Have 2 new finishes to show you! So yes you've seen the tops done, but they are quilted now and have binding on them!!! (I didn't say the binding was sewn down though you notice). Above is my string stars. Doesn't it look great! Actually this one does have binding sewn down and has been on my bed for a week. Check out the back.

And my sisters wine quilt is all quilted! My friend quilted grapes and grape leaves on it. If you look hard you might see the grape circles. My sister is going to LOVE this!

And in case I didn't post it, the wedding quilt top is done and at the quilters as we speak! It is king size so I had a hard time getting the whole thing in!

String Stars Quilt Top is done!

So I struggled with what to do. End the end I kind of used everyone's suggestions and this is what I ended up with. It will be large enough for my bed so I can see it every day. I can't wait to get it quilted! But first I have to make the backing!

I also made these 2 wilderness type blocks for a friendship quilt some of us are making for a friend. Aren't they cute!

Drum Roll Please......

I got the string stars done!!!!! Isn't it great! It is about 62 x 62. I"m wondering if I should leave it as is and just have the quilt this size, or if I should add really wide borders (10") and then it would fit my bed. If I do that I"m thinking either brown or red. (Oh and the pics are really washed out. The colors are much richer in real life and the background shirtings are more tan. Only place I could get a pic was in Jenna's room on her closet door tonight which is in the basement).

What do you think? I"ll add a poll to the top of my blog to add to the fun!

A quick peek at my project

So here is a quick peek at my project I"m working on at my mom's house! Isn't it awesome!

When Holly was a young girl she always loved my mom's figurines she had on her wedding cake. (They are now 49 years old!) Anyway when mom moved out east she was going to throw them away and Holly said "no, I want them on my wedding cake". So she boxed them up and labeled the box. Mom brought the box out east figuring by the time Holly grew up she wouldn't want them. Well the other day Holly asked if I could get them out while I'm at mom's house. My sister in law is going to repaint the colors and give the girls new dresses to match Holly's wedding colors! My mom is still surprised she really wants them! And let me tell you, these are plaster figures, not the cheap plastic stuff they have these days!
