What do you do on a snowy Day?

Yes we got the snow today. The girls were home from school and I worked from home, still sick - but doing just a bit better. Above is looking out out front door after Mark plowed out out driveway this afternoon. I wanted to get a prettier picture of the snow and house, but I wasn't feeling well enough to walk out and do that. At least this gives you an idea. I hear more snow is to come.

Last night I felt a tad better and found the perfect project to work on. I got my next installment of my house BOM, and so I sewed that together. Since this kit comes with all the pieces cut out to size all I have to do is sew! Now that was perfect since I really didn't want to cut and fuss! Here is months 1-5 together and a larger pic of month 5 I did last night.

So what do you do on a snowy day. Well this mini quilt was a long time in the thought process. First my friend Kathie made this small strippy repro quilt. I loved it, and thought - someday I need to make one like that.

Well then a few weeks ago when I went to Green Bay I found this awesome orange fabric in the repro section - my second thought - That is perfect for my small strippy! Bought it of course. Well today I just decided go for it. But instead of messing with a small one I decided to make a mini one for Lucy since she sent me her beautiful green one she made. Now mine did not take anywhere near the perfection of Lucy's, but it is darn cute! Now I have to make one for me!

I love your Santa themed page, very cute.
We got some snow, too, but not as much as you did. We were supposed to get a big storm, but only ended up with maybe 3-4 inches of snow and a lot of ice.
Your BOM quilt is really looking good!

Oooh, love your house BOM--it is coming together so beautifully. And your strippy mini is adorable--Lucy will love it, I'm sure!!! Kansas City got some of that same snow you got--except north of the Missouri River, where I am, we dodged the bullet!! So weird. Other parts of the city got up to 10" or so.

No snow day here...that sounds like it would be great every once in a while...I don't think we have any hope for that though here in Orlando. Your house quilt is wonderful...and what a bonus a kit with the pieces cut. Your mini is so cute.

I'm so hoping we get a snow day here, but none is in sight. I have a Triple Irish Chain quilt I plan to work on during a snow day. You had a productive snow day. Your mini quilt is cute.

Holy Chicago...did you ever get snow! So glad that you were at home, safe. You're the first person that I thought of when I heard the forecast for the Midwest!

LOVE your strippy quilts!!! The big one and the itty bitty one!!!

Goodness...I was going to quilt today...perhaps I'll string quilt instead? ;-) Uh...the peer pressure....

Obviously you are feeling better - you are sewing again! The house BOM is turning out so neat! And what a perfect project for recovery - I never heard of a BOM where all the pieces are already cut out.

I think your little minis are just perfect - what fun they are!

And of course you know how jealous I am of all your snow!

Your BOM is beautiful, I love these houses, and your mini quilt is very nice, so little ! Here, in Switzerland, no snow...it will perhaps be a green Christmas....

Love your little quilt ... just so tiny and sweet.
I wouldn't know what to do with a snow day -- have never had one -- my snow experience is quite limited *s*

Brrrr. Glad we haven't gotten any of that snow, tho it's been far too cold for me here. Cute mini and I love that strippy of Kathie's. Yes, you need to make a big one for you!

Your mini quilts are so incredibly cute. I just might have to make a couple of those and turn them into ornaments. Your BOM is cute too.
