2 little projects

Thought I would share 2 other little projects I finished while out at my mom's house. I have to quilt them yet, but I had to share! And ignore the wrinkles - I haven't had time to iron them since I pulled them out of my suitcase!

The top picture is a little wall hanging I made with the penny flowers from Primitive Gatherings new book Summer Gatherings. This particular quilt isn't in the book, but I used the flowers from the penny mat to put in the squares. As you can see in the second picture they are LITTLE! The flowers are probably only about 1-3/4" tall. Isn't it cute! My mom loved it. I think I may have to make a second one for her.

This one turned out to be my favorite one.

I also made this little feathered star. It finishes at about 17-1/2" square. This was one of those Little Bits patterns with the tissue paper foundations inside. I've wanted to make this for years but was too chicken. I finally made it! I still lost some points even with the foundation piecing - but it is still cute - and LITTLE!

I"ll be gone again for a few weeks as I take a real vacation with DH to drive the midwest and visit the girls. See you in August!

Welcome home and have a great trip. You are going to be at camp aren't you? Going to OK? You can always come and little bit south.

My friend made me one of those Little Bits Star quilts...I love it! I'm chuckling...you said your mom loved your little quilt with the wool flowers and you will have to make her one. I would have given my mom that one and "hoped" that someday I would get back to making mine. It is cute!!

Both very good projects. I like how you used a different green fabric for the "inside blocks". Really sparks up the little quilt.
The Feathered Star is done oh so well! A beautiful piece you can be proud of.
