No Surprises!

OK, no surprises today. Above is the "real" layout of some of the log cabin blocks. This is only 16 of 64 though, so there will be more to come. But I"m just LOVING how it looks. I"ve got it laying out on my mom's chair and everytime I walk by I love it more. I"m dying to finish the other log cabins so I can get more added.

And another project I did the last few days. I got this pieced for a Christmas gift. I have 4 more to go! I got the fabric at the Quilter's Hive here in Delaware. Yes I'm having a great time fabric shopping! I"m happy with how this turned out - especially since I HATE paper piecing! But this went pretty fast and will be a breeze to quilt. It finishes at about 15" x 15" - so not bad. The pattern is one I"ve had, so I don't know if it can be found anywhere still, but the website is still up. It is called "Silent Night" by Sweet Peas.

Tomorrow we are off for Lancanster County. I'll be doing more fabric shopping - of course! Our days have been pretty busy and I've also been trying to work 1/2 days, so I haven't kept up with the blogs as well as I wanted, but I promise when I get home and settled in I'll be back to visit all of you.

Looking good. I love paper piecing! Maybe I'll start doing your embroidery and paper piecing and you can do my quilting. You are much better at it! How are you doing the log cabins that small? Are you paper piecing them? Glad you are having a great time!

Lancaster county is a place I would like to visit. I can´t stop wondering how much work it must be on those tiny log cabin blocks.

Oh what fun -- love the layout for the log cabins and the paper pieced block is adorable. I'm jealous of all the shopping fun and time with your mother -- I can't wait until my mom comes in August!

I love it but you knew I would!
:-)

The creche is beautiful.

Have fun in Lancaster - can't wait to see what you buy.

that log cabin star is lovely - nothing like seeing part assembled to give you the impetus to get right on with the rest of it. Your nativity is sweet but boy that paper piecing would drive me clean out of my head - good on you for persevering - I'd have resorted to hand applique long ago :o) Lucky you going to Lancaster County - Enjoy!!!

The fabrics you've used in the log cabin are gorgeous! Isn't it exciting when the more you look at it the more you are so happy with how it's coming together. Great work.

Lancaster county!!! You meany-even mentioning that! I'm sure it was just so all of us could breathe a collective sigh! Have heaps of fun though...and that start is to die for.
I think I have the Christmas one in a 101 quilt block type book so if people can't see it anywhere else, have a look through their books. Tracey

I really like this paperpiecing project! I'm teaching that this week and I am very nervous about it. One of those techniques you either love or hate!

Enjoy Lancaster...
