Still Unpacking

I don't know why I don't realize that when I spend a month packing for camp I am not going to get unpacked and organized within a day (or two)!!! Anyway, I unpacked a bit last night and this morning and have all kinds of goodies to share with you. I know I have more probably. Anyway, the most fun thing I made at camp was this bag. The bag folds up into this pocket (above) and then opens out into a big tote bag (below)! I obviously need to fix the one side of the handle, didn't get it quite even. I made this with Jan - I"m so glad she shared her pattern and told me about this! Oh and heh - get the colors and fabric style - I didn't stick to my norm!

I also made this tote bag with my friend Joan. This one is going to my mother-in-law. I think she will like it!

Also got my apron done! I wanted one of those aprons that cross in the back, and look at the fun 50's fabric I used! (Yes it is wrinkled from packing).

And last but not least a bit better view of "The Purple Quilt"!

Tomorrow - Gifts!

Camp was Wonderful!

As always, camp was wonderful. I got some much needed sewing time and mostly visiting time with friends. Here are just a few quick pics of what I worked on. Above is the "purple" quilt I made for my sister-in-law for xmas. One guess what color she likes!

And this is my friend Joan's "treat bag" dress.

And here is Laura's dress and my dress (with treats inside). I"ll have to get some more pics later. Just been too busy catching up with life at work and home!

Off to Camp

I"m off to camp!!!! Well tomorrow I am! Finished my other clothespin bag for myself!

And made an emergency baby quilt for my sister. Her niece-in-law asked her oldest son to be the Godfather of their new baby, so she thought he should have a special present for the baby.

AND I got all my spool blocks together so I can take it to the quilter on retreat! This is a swap Darlene, Sharon, Wendy, Judy, and Carol did with me. It is going to be such a special quilt! I just love the way it looks!

And the wedding quilt is quilted and I have the binding sewn on. Now to sew it down on the back!

See you in a week!

Is this just not the cutest!

Isn't this clothespin bag just not the cutest! I made this for Laura for camp. We always bring containers for treats that we pass around. She is bringing the decorations for our table so I offered to make the treat containers. Since the theme is Patchchwork Pantry I thought this clothespin bag would be perfect. Now to decide what fabric I"m going to make mine in. I keep changing my mind! Or I love Laura's so much maybe I'll steal hers!

I also got fabric cut out for one more kit for camp!

Getting ready for Camp!

Did a bit more to get ready for camp. Our theme this year is Patchwork Pantry and I decided I needed some fun pillow cases for my bed - aren't these perfect!

Also did some cutting for a project to work on. This will be a quilt for my sister in law. Last year I made one for my brother for their new house. My mom bought the fabric and then I made it for her to give him. His wife has been teasing her - when does she get a quilt. So this year when I was out there with mom we bought this fabric for her quilt! She loves purple. Stay tuned for progress on this one!

Another project I worked on at camp

At camp I also worked on the Christmas panel I got out in Delaware! Sorry for the bad pic - but I didn't want to bother anyone to hold it, and I already sent it home with the long-armer down there! But I think it turned out pretty cute for a panel quilt! I also used the scraps to make 3 small quilts! Guess I don't have a pic of those - I'll have to take one later! Maybe I'll get them quilted up first!

Now I"m busy figuring out a small quilt for our Christmas small quilt exchange! Laura, Sossy, Heather and I drew names again this year to exchange a small quilt. Last year it was whatever style the person who we drew liked. I had gotten Laura and made the above one. This year it is a small quilt either Christmas or Winter! Oh so many choices! I can't decide!

Fun, Fun, Fun!

Oh my gosh - I had so much fun this weekend at camp! Seeing Laura, Linda, Sossy and Jan is always a blast! We laughed so much, slept little, ate lots and sometimes even sewed! I"m still trying to get "back in the swing of things" so I thought I would share what I got done on my mystery quilt. Laura did the mystery again this year and they always are so cool! Above is mine - minus the last outside border of HSTs. Isn't it awesome!

And this was Laura and mine little corner of the world for the weekend - can you tell the theme was Hooray for the Red, White and Blue!

And check out some of the other mystery quilts! It is so much fun to see the same quilt all done up in different fabrics! Aren't they GORGEOUS! I didn't show Jan's - she can show hers on her blog! It is really cool!

Getting Ready for Camp - 2

Got fabric cut today for one more quilt to work on at camp! I won't give away how it will look, but the center will be this panel. I rarely do things with panels, but this just looked like a quick fun project.

And I made 2 really fun Smore Pink Pillowcases!

Pinwheels and Ballot Boxes

I got 2 pinwheels made! Finally! These 2 I just put on wooden dowels and nailed in, so they don't spin, but they are cute! I need to try the pinwheel sticks yet - just got them in the mail today! I used the instructions for these on Procrastistamper.

And quilt camp is coming up in 2 short (or should I say long) months! We always pass out treats and surprises, and the theme this year is Hooray for the Red, White and Blue. We thought we could decorate little ballot boxes to collect our treats in. Well I found 2 adorable wood primitive boxes on sale from 4th of July for Laura's and my ballot boxes! Won't it be perfect!
