It seems like it has been so long since I've been able to sew I just had to sew something last night! Luckily I had just picked up some kits for 3 blocks for our guilds raffle quilt next spring! So I sat down and got all 3 made! It just felt so wonderful to be behind the machine again.
These blocks will be alternated with some star blocks and is a pattern by Judy Martin called Shakespeare in the Park. You can see several samples of it on her photo page under the book The Creative Pattern Book.

Dawn I had to laugh! You broke your sewing drought with a sewing flood! I take it you don't do things by halves :)
Love the swirly effect of these blocks. Look forward to seeing the finished product!
They look great! scrappy blues and neutrals is one of my favorite color schemes!

I just love the graphic movement of these blocks. Whoever chose the fabrics did a really nice job!
Gosh! First lobsters. Now snails!
They do look great, Dawn!
Beautiful blocks, Dawn. I've always loved "Shakespear in the Park". Can hardly wait to see your progress on this one.
The blocks look great Dawn! So glad you could get a sewing fix! It is hard to be missing in action when we are soooo used to sewing and quilting. Hope life calms down for you soon, Hugs, Finn
Shakespeare in the Park is a PIG of mine, I am doing it with two fabrics - unheard of for me, but the dark is a Ricky Timms Hand dyed look a like & the light has something going on too. (I have NO idea why I bought so much of the R.T. fabric... That WHIMM must have left my mind!)
I can't tell you how many times I've pulled that pattern out and started pulling fabrics...that's as far as I've gotten but that is better then the ones I just clip out of a mag and put in the some day folder! Nice to see the "drought is over!"

I'm glad you found sewing time, because look at whatgreat blocks you made!
I love that quilt--It's one of the very prettiest. And you've got a good start. Snail's Trail is not that easy. Are you paper piecing?
I love Sheakspeare in the Park! I made the blue/tan version and it went together PERFECTLY! I was so happy with it that I right away did a purple and white one. It is a great guild project and your blocks look very nice.
Cheers!
