Bargello Bowl - Wednesday....

Since I didn't have time to participate in Bargello Bowl Sunday, and then I saw Marcie's Scrappy Trip Around the World blocks she did - and THEN I got sick so just wanted mindless sewing - I created Bargello Bowl Wednesday - Or Ash Wednesday Bargello - Or Trip to Ash Wednesday!

I happily cut up all that old crafty type fabrics, old Jo-Ann fabrics and just misc other cotton fabrics that are UGLY or just strips of good stuff but not big enough to do anything with into 2.5" strips. And started making Bonnie's Scrappy Trip Around the World blocks!

It was perfect mindless sewing for a stuffed up big head!

And then I took the trimmings from those blocks and started making crumb/chaos blocks for another small charity quilt.

I think I did good for not feeling well!

Nice job for a slow day. I do like that Bargello quilt, I might just have to make one of those.

Nice going Dawn! Those are really ugly! I am amazed you are capable of that! It gives you a sense of freedom, doesn't it?

Hope you are feeling better. I thought of doing a Bargello once, but have never tackled it, yet.

Dawn, How's your feel? I'm glad to see your new projects. Can't wait to see your entire view of Trip around the world!
and Oh, Gee... I love this little one. It's very beautiful. I want to try out this quilt one day. :-)

Great job for a sickie! What do you do when you are really well? I want to do Bonnie's Trip Around the World also, but I just have not started it yet. I do have lots of strips cut for a good start. I love making crumb blocks. I use up every little bit of scraps. Sometimes there is more thread in my blocks than fabric!

Great idea for those scraps, & the uglies that make me cringe, & think, "What was I thinking??!!"

Indeed! What a trooper you are, Dawn! Better than chicken soup?

I love the crumbs just as much as the real thing! It's always fun to go through scraps...and remember "where and when."

Enjoy your weekend! And rest! ;-)

Sorry you are not feeling well but boy, are you being productive in spite of that! How inspired it was for you to make the crumb blocks out the bits that remained.

I am doing the regular bargello thing but now that I see your blocks and how Marcie's are coming out it almost makes me wish I had seen the trip version first.

Feel better!

Isn´t it great to see some of the not so loved anymore fabrics gone to make something beautiful at last! And it leaves some place to buy new one! I hope you get better soon. Take care.

For a lady who's sick you sure get a lot done :0). What a great use for some of those unloved or too small fabric pieces!

This really looks interesting and good for using those "ugly" fabrics that are laying around.
