Chicago Quilt Festival Goodies

Had a great time at the last Quilt Festival that will be in Chicago. Next year it moves to Cincinnati, Ohio. I wasn't going to go at first since I"m going to Paducah this week, but well, when I heard this was the last year in Chicago I figured I had better go. Lots to share with you, more than one post can handle, so I"ll try and limit it here! Above are 2 purses I made from a kit (the one on the left) and pattern I bought at the show. That is going to be my purse for Paducah! The one on the right will be for my friend as a gift.

Also made these 2. The one on the left is for my sister and the one on the right is for Holly. Jenna said they were ugly - so none for her. And I knew Emily would stick her nose up at them! This is the pattern I used.

This year they had a lot of antique quilts in the show. Oh they were SO GORGEOUS. How could I ever pick a favorite. So here are just a few favorites.

Let me get this straight...you bought the pattern AT THE SHOW and you've made 4 already!!!! Whoa, that is impressive. I haven't even unpacked my purchases yet. I think my very favorite quilt was the Chips and Whetstones but there were so very many beautiful ones.

I have been seeing photos of the antique quilts on a few of the blogs today. I don't recall seeing any that you show. Some beauties!

You'll be looking very fashionable in Paducah toting the quilted purse. So sweet!!
I'm loving all the antique quilts. What do you make of the cheddar basket on the first one? Kind of unusual:)

You must have had a production line going for the purses, they look like a great size, you did good on those. Thanks for sharing these quilts, the tree of life is amazing in it's design.

Thanks for sharing those gorgeous antiques. The Chips and Whetstones is my favorite. I appreciate the photos of the labels with the quilts. That answers a lot of questions.

Wow -- you're fast -- those bags turned out great! I had no idea the show was moving to Cincinnati -- do you know if that's a permanent move, or will it be hopping around? I'm halfway between Chicago and Cincinnati, so it works for me either way. ;-) And now you get to go to Paducah -- Yipee!!!

What Beautiful antiques! But it breaks my heart to see: maker unknown. I just wish every quilting or crafting blog would have a notice on their front page saying SIGN and DATE YOUR WORK. Love the bags!
