Santa #1, #2 or #3

So what do you think? Before the final outside border should I have a small piping of red? Or a narrow border of red? Or skip it all together? (note the red is a bit bright, it is actually binding from another project that I just used for testing since it was laying around).

I like it with the narrow red border best.

I vote for #1. :o) I like the look it gives with just a hint of red. Spark. :o)

Dawn - I like the narrow red border. 1/2" to 3/4". I don't think the piping stands out enough. I love skinny accent borders, and put them in a lot of my quilts. Sort of like the second mat on a framed picture.

I agree definnitely needs the red. I'd stick to 1/2 or less.

I would choose Santa #1. You have a bit of extra colour but it doesn't dominate the quilt.

Dawn - I'd definitely go with the middle picture a narrow border of red but in a slightly duller shade to match your santas - they look fab!

I am always the one who choose something else.... I vote for #3 without the red. I like it simple and the santa's let do the work !!!

Ya got any of that red on the santa in the right hand bottom corner? That'd be my vote for a small border like #2. :-)

I vote for the piping as well. I think it works really well to give it some final touches.

#1 gets my vote. The narrow border accents instead of dominating the quilt.

Nice work...

I like the piping idea, Dawn. Can't wait to see what you decide though!

narrow red border gets my vote.... the piping feels too small, maybe with the red border? ;-)

I like the piping. Just a little something to add interest, but not too much.

I'm sure you've got enough votes here, but just wanted to say, I love the wallhanging and I like it best with narrow red border not the piping...

Just being me, I wonder what it would like like with black (navy?) piping and then a large dark red border... Or plain navy rather than all those busy stars. That's just me.... They look great tho!

I'm the Cookie Monster too.

I like it with the piping. But the whole thing is so neat.
