Men at Work

I FINALLY got my Men at Work quilt top done and even got it pinned today! I started this quilt 2 years ago at a quilt retreat and got all the blocks made and the blocks pinned into rows. Then it sat. And sat. Last Jan at my sewing weekend with Linda and Laura I got all the blocks sewn into rows and a couple of rows sewn together. And then it sat, and sat and sat! So last night I hauled it out and got the top done! I went to sew with some friends for the day today and there was a big empty floor - perfect for getting it pinned! So it is all pinned and ready to be quilted! I"m a very happy girl!

The block is really called "Darting Birds", but doesn't it look like those Men at Work signs when you turn the block the other way!

And look what I got in the mail today! My friend Linda G. found these and sent me one - just because! Wasn't that sweet! And isn't it cute! It is by Cherry Designs.

I love this quilt. I'd forgotten I have this project to do, too.

This is a lovely pattern and well worth your perseverence - know what you mean about the men at work - your title made me smile :o)

I love this quilt. I also have a kit for this and seeing yours has made me want to get it out and actually make it.

What an unusual block--I have never seen it before. I love the new name you have given it--very cute! This top would go wonderfully with some of those prints out there that show the shirtless young men at their construction jobs! LOL

Coooool! How graphic is it, and your name brings it up a few more notches!

Clever job.

Great name for a quilt. Something (like quilts) gets better if they are aged.

Oh yes -- it does look like the "Men at work" signs -- and given the two seasons in Illinios (winter and contsruction) very appropriate! Love the quilt top and the lovely ornament.

I would be SO tempted to add some little details to the men... put a little applique hard hat on one... etc. :)
