More on my old project....
OK, so many wanted to see the whole quilt I took it downstairs to my daughters room and snapped a few pics. Its in the basement so I only get so much light down there! Anyway, here it is. Thought I would snap closeups of the few sections I have quilted.
For those of you that asked what the pattern is: It is Primitive Primer by Jan Patek. An oldie but a goodie. The first running of this book had side projects to make with blocks and sections of the full quilt. The second printing is just the full quilt. So if you go looking for the book just note that.
Someone else wanted to know about my pin basting. Yes, I pin my hand quilted quilts. I don't have the time or the space to really thread baste it. so I pin baste just it, just like if I would machine quilt it. Then I start quilting sections. If a pin is in the way of the hoop when I start I just move the pin. And I"m just extra careful when I put the quilt in the hoop to make sure I"m not folding any backing in it, or pulling the backing funny. Has worked for me.

A bit under the weather
I"ve been feeling just plain yucky lately. Fighting the winter sinus stuff. But I did finish the sewing caddies!
And look at this one! Isn't it adorable!
Over Christmas I also finished this block to my Winter Wonderland redword quilt. Just got around to taking pictures.
And I finally started Lori's Midnight Stars.

Hard At Work
I"ve been hard at work the last 2 weeks working on roommate gifts for my end of January retreat. I started always making something for my gift and this year is no different. I need a total of 12 and have 4 completely done. But it isn't as bad as it sounds. I"m on the last steps for the other ones, so I really have a lot done.
Check them out - aren't they fun!
I found the tutorial here (look at right hand column): Ginabean Handmade
