It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

REVISED 10-15-07

in my sewing room anyway! Above the roof of the stable and the top of the star. Below Mary and Joseph take shape.

Mary and Josephs hands and the bottom of the star.

Since these are paper pieced and I'm not the best at this technique I have lots of scraps. All but the smallest are going into liberated log cabin blocks - they are looking good! Not sure what I"ll do with them yet, if I'll combine them with other fabrics or just make a mini quilt with just scraps from the nativity scenes. As you can see, not much waste left! And I have no idea how I'll set them or what size/layout they will be.

If you want to see my other Liberated Log Cabin quilt I made from my class with Gwen Marston you can see it here, and here, and here. Ok - and here and here.

A veritable production line Dawn - but hey if your piecing one you might as well do five - looking great though!

So organized! I can't think past Halloween right now. I usually end up putting bindings on my Christmas quilts on New Year's Day!

no, no, no, no. Halloween hasn't even come yet. Stop that! more halloween, more halloween!

Love the mile a minute blocks. The paper piecing looks interesting but it's hard to tell yet.

How productive you are! Love the idea of doing up MaM blocks at the same time instead of putting scraps in a bin.

This is very interesting - can't wait to see the results.

Two at once . . . you are so clever to think of making up the mile a minutes at the same time. I'd end up with a pile of fabrics, get overwhelmed with the leftovers and give up.

wow 5 tops you are very prodcutive indeed. You can sew the crumbs into baskets ;-)

So much achieved! Congratulations.
What a great idea to use paper-piecing scraps for MAM blocks. They look great and will make a marvelous doll-quilt I am sure.
Take care.

Great little use of crumbs!

I've been trying to save scraps for each quilt as I make it, and either make a fancy border for my quilt label (with crazy crumbs sewed together then trimmed to a 2 inch strip) or - if I have a lot of them, several blocks sewn into the middle of my backing.
